What is Abstinence?

Abstinence is making an informed choice not to participate in at-risk behaviors, such as:

:: pre-marital sex (anal, vaginal, and oral)
:: smoking
:: drug and alcohol use

Is oral sex, sex?

Yes, oral sex, along with anal sex and mutual masturbation, can cause the same physical and emotional consequences that sexual intercourse can. In fact, you can get many of the same sexually transmitted diseases from performing oral sex that you can get from sexual intercourse.

Can you get pregnant when you are menstruating?

Yes, one can get pregnant during menstruation, especially if you tend to have short cycles. You can also contract sexually transmitted diseases any time of the month.

Abstinence is the only 100% way to prevent this.
