There are many reasons for you to choose 2 wait:
You can say “NO”, even if you have said “yes” in the past; this is called "renewed virginity." It is never too late to change your mind and start making healthy choices.
Think ahead and have a game plan before you end up in a compromising situation.
Sex does not = love BUT Sex does cause babies.
If having sex is required to hold onto a boyfriend/girlfriend, then it’s not worth taking the risk.
Having a baby will not fix a broken relationship. Caring for a baby can be overwhelming for a teen parent due to the added responsibility of raising a child.
When you have sex with someone you are having sex with more than that one person. You become exposed to every person that he/she has ever had sex with, and so on.
The media would like you to believe that you can have sex with no consequences. I guess they forgot about STDs, Pregnancy, and Emotional Effects.
Condoms do not cover your heart.
Using drugs or alcohol increases the chances for sexual activity to occur.
Using sex to meet emotional needs usually ends in DISAPPOINTMENT.
No one has the right to force you to engage in sexual activity if you do not want to. If someone has forced you to engage in sexual activity against your will: TELL someone you trust, GET HELP from a counselor, and UNDERSTAND that it is NOT your fault.
Some people with STDs do not experience any symptoms.
No symptoms = no treatment = possible permanent damage to body
You cannot tell by looking at someone if they have an STD. It is not written on their forehead and they do not look sick.
Choosing abstinence gives you FREEDOM from: contracting STDs, having a child before you are ready, suffering from emotional pain due to a broken relationship. You now have the FREEDOM to: pursue your goals and respect yourself and others.
Renewed Virginity
Renewed Virginity means that even if you have been sexually active in the past, you can still choose to stop being sexually active and commit to abstinence until marriage. Physical virginity can never be regained but you can still lead a life that is free from sexual involvement and participating in risky behaviors.
